SAFE HARBOUR HOSTS TRIVIA NIGHT FUNDRAISING EVENT
When Did the American Revolutionary War end? In what ocean is the world’s deepest point?
Who pitched the last complete game no-hitter for the Baltimore Orioles?*
If you know the answers to these trivia questions and more, Safe Harbour invites you to have
fun, enjoy a buffet dinner and compete for prizes when it hosts a fundraising Trivia Night on Monday,
April 23, beginning at 6:30 p.m. at Arooga’s Grille House and Sports Bar on the Carlisle Pike in
Mechanicsburg.
Tickets for this battle of the brain teasers are $30 per person and include a hot dinner buffet,
salad, desserts and cash prizes. Contestants can compete individually or as part of a team. Prizes will be
awarded for the first, second and third place finishers.
Proceeds from the evening of wild guesses and on-point answers will benefit Safe Harbour’s
housing programs and services for the homeless and potentially homeless individuals and families of
Cumberland County.
Tickets can be purchased by calling Safe Harbour at (717) 249-2200 or event organizer Green’s
Promise at (717) 691-5965.
Safe Harbour is a not-for-profit organization that provides a continuum of housing services
for the homeless and potentially homeless of Cumberland County. Safe Harbour is governed by an
independent Board of Directors and derives its financial support from individuals, organizations,
churches, fees paid by residents, commercial rents, investments, foundations, federal and state
grants, as well as the United Way. Safe Harbour’s services include operating an emergency shelter for
families and single females who are in desperate need of a secure place to live and an environment to
begin getting their lives under control; a bridge housing program that helps individuals and families in
need of longer-term assistance to continue acquiring the skills necessary for independent living and a
productive life style; and single-room-occupancy (SRO) permanent housing facilities that offer housing
opportunities to single individuals who are ready for independent living, but need additional “life
support.”
(* The American Revolutionary War ended in September of 1783 with the signing of the Treaty
of Paris. The deepest place on Earth is the Mariana Trench in the western Pacific Ocean. Oriole ace Jim
Palmer pitched a complete game no-hitter against the Oakland Athletics in August 1969 at Memorial
Stadium in Baltimore.)
